Amabel Youngbin JeonSocial, Cognitive, and Cultural Psychologist
PhD Candidate, University of Southern California |
Welcome!
I am a Ph.D. candidate working with Dr. Daphna Oyserman at the Mind and Society Center at the University of Southern California. Prior to USC, I worked in the Memory, Cognition, and Self (MCS) Lab at Wesleyan University under the guidance of Dr. Kyungmi Kim. My research focuses on how our culture-based knowledge network shapes cognitive biases and retention of ambiguous information. I apply insights from my research to real-world implications, such as increasing public support for police reform and reducing the spread of online hate and misinformation. In my free time, I enjoy boxing, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and skating alongside Venice beach.
